Portfolio

Two scoreboards.

One tells me whether I am actually building wealth. The other tells me whether the investment decisions did anything useful after removing the fact that I keep adding money.

Four sleeves. One portfolio.

The ticker weights are useful, but the sleeves tell me more about where I am making the same economic bet in several different ways.

Sleeve drilldown

Okay, what is actually inside each slice?

This is where the pretty donut turns back into real positions. Each row shows the sleeve weight and whole-portfolio weight, then links to the actual thesis and model.

The boring half: broad exposure that earns the default dollar until an individual company clearly beats the opportunity cost. The 58 / 16 / 6 / 20 mix deliberately tilts toward small and mid caps, while keeping broad large-cap exposure lower so selected compounders can earn that capital when the opportunity is actually good.

Why two scoreboards?

New money is not investment return.

Deposits make the account bigger no matter how good the investing was. The $1M number tracks wealth, TWR keeps the active result separate, and the matched-flow VOO comparison shows what the same dollars would have done in the boring alternative.

Active portfolio vs same deposits in VOO+$25,644

Through Oct 6, 2026, this is how much higher the active portfolio ended than putting the exact same deposits into VOO. Nice number. Still not calling it alpha.

The weights are only the map.

The weight is just the number on the front. The interesting part is the thesis, cost basis, model, risks and what would make me add, trim or do absolutely nothing. The weight will move; the dated record stays put.

The email version

Mostly Nothing, when there is actually something to say.

Usually about once a week. Research notes, portfolio decisions, reviews and thesis updates—the useful stuff that comes out of doing the work, whether or not I traded that week.
